The dialup phone number can be easily changed via the graphical
Network tool. There will be a shortcut to the Network tool along the
top taskbar.
Once its opened, you would select the Dialup account ( ppp0 ), then under the Provider TAB, you will see the dialup number.
Make your changes, click OK, and then close the Network tool.
You will be prompted to save the changes, which you will do.
Remember
to restart the network service if you have made changes to the number,
there will be a shortcut on the desktop to accomplish this.
